Once you and your dentist have made the decision to seek full arch reconstruction, commonly known as all-on-4, you will see Dr. Shyam for an in depth consultation. At this time a CT scan will be acquired along with any other measurements needed to ensure your case is handled appropriately.

We will work with your dentist to ensure dental records are obtained and sent to our laboratory partner ODS inc. This begins your journey and allows us to ensure the necessary guides and temporary prostheses can be fabricated.

Surgery Day! We anticipate 90-120 minutes for each arch we are restoring. We begin with some pre-operative photos, get you ready for surgery, sedate and complete the procedure by placing 4-6 implants including zygomatic and pterygoid implants when necessary. Then while you are recovering from anesthesia our laboratory team will take over to convert your implants into a temporary prosthesis. You will walk out of our office with a beautiful and functional set of teeth and all the instructions and information on next steps.

Like all implants, all-on-x surgeries with dental implant placement require 3-6 months to heal and have the bone fuse to the surface of your dental or facial implants. We do routine follow ups and check-ins during this time each month to ensure your case is progressing as expected. Temporary teeth you will have during this time are there to ensure you can live your life to its fullest but you are expected to eat soft foods while your implants heal.

Once healed, we check the strength of the bond between your bone and implants (torque testing) and clear you to begin the process to get your final denture that is either made of Zirconia (same material as artificial diamonds) or use a titanium reinforced traditional denture.

You will complete treatment with your dentist in 3-4 appointments where the titanium or zirconia substructure for your final set of teeth will be tried on your implants. Next our laboratory and dental partners will ensure you are satisfied with the esthetics of your new teeth if for any reason you would like to change something from your temporary teeth and ensure your final prosthesis is perfectly suited to your preferences. Your dentist will then deliver your final teeth and your treatment is complete!

Maintenance after final teeth are delivered is crucial to the long term success of your all-on-x full arch restoration. Please ensure you see your dentist at least once a year if not more often. We communicate with our dental partners regularly and will happily address any concerns you or they have regarding your full arch treatment. Preventing problems or catching them early is the best way to ensure you get to enjoy your teeth and remain in full function for years to come.
